Catherine Byron
Founder & Lead Instructor
Catherine Byron has always been drawn to health and fitness. At just twelve years old, she vividly remembers exercising in her living room alongside Jane Fonda during the fitness boom of the 1980s — an era that left a lasting imprint on an entire generation.
Although she never set out to build a career in fitness, Catherine became certified in aerobics, step, spin, and yoga during her college years, initially teaching as a side pursuit. Before graduating, an opportunity to manage multiple locations for a popular gym chain drew her into the industry full-time, launching what would become a lifelong professional journey in movement and wellness.
In 2002, Catherine was introduced to the Pilates Reformer — a pivotal moment that transformed her understanding of the human body. Pilates revealed that exercise could be corrective, restorative, and deeply intelligent, offering far more than surface-level fitness. This experience ultimately shifted her focus and redirected her path.
She went on to complete her comprehensive STOTT Pilates certification on all apparatus at Pilates on Fifth in New York City, and later founded and operated CB Performance Pilates in Waldwick, New Jersey, where she spent a decade working closely with clients of all ages and abilities.
Catherine later gained additional perspective working within larger Pilates franchise environments — an experience that reinforced the importance of quality instruction and personalized attention. That insight ultimately inspired her return to boutique, client-centered instruction and quality programming.
Now based in Florida, Catherine brings over three decades of experience into the creation of Tree of Life Pilates.
Her passion remains the same -guiding clients through a holistic approach that supports not just the mind and body, but the person within.
